A robust endowment will ensure the Y’s financial future, allowing us to keep our programs open to all regardless of their ability to pay, and to uphold our strong tradition of meeting the ever-changing needs of our children, families and communities. Launched in 2006, the Summit Area YMCA’s Endowment Campaign has a goal of $6 million, the income from which will ensure our ability to continue to carry out our mission no matter what the future holds. By 2014, the Board of Trustees anticipates that over $1 million will be required annually for the Y Cares Financial Assistance and Community Development and Outreach programs to meet projected needs in our service area. We will meet this goal through the annual Strong Kids Campaign AND with the income from the endowment.
